According to the National Venture Capital Association, there are approximately 794 venture capital firms in the United States. Those firms invest in approximately 2,400 companies per year—an average of about three new customers per firm annually.

More daunting is the fact that only forty of them—barely 5 percent—have taken a liking to things robotic, which makes the odds of getting a yes plummet even further.
