We’ve come a long way since Joe Engelberger incorporated the world’s first robotics company in October of 1962. That company was Unimation, Inc., and today, fifty years later, over one thousand more companies have been added to the ranks of the robotics ecosystem. More arrive daily. Whether large or small, huge conglomerates to bright, spirited start-ups, they are all part of a new Industrial Revolution that is reshaping industry, manufacturing, agriculture, commerce, medicine and healthcare, education, government and the military, including our culture, our homes and families—in short, our very way of life.
Robotics is causing profound changes in the ways that the world has always worked, with many more changes still to come. Taking stock of those myriad changes, sorting through how each affects the new revolution and our future, and reporting on them to you our members is the job of Robotics Business Review.
“Business” is our middle name; so here at Robotics Business Review, we believe that business, just as it has so aptly demonstrated since 1962, will ultimately be the force that drives all emerging robotics’ technology forward. As such, robotics business and the business of robotics are our prime focus.
In this, the 50th anniversary since Unimation kicked it all off, we’re taking the occasion to celebrate with an energetic and stylish re-launch of our website for what we feel to be a highly engaging, informative and useful user experience. See for yourself.
So please, take Robotics Business Review for a test drive of your own. Look around. We’re open for business and we’d love to have you as a member.

Robots based on a humanoid form factor will eventually join us at home, in the workplace and in public places. Here’s what’s news in humanoid robotics.
