Surgical robots, the security sector, and self-driving companies all got funding during National Robotics Week.

Comma.ai, which shut down its Comma One self-driving car kit, has open-sourced its new Open Pilot software to resurrect its DIY autonomous vehicle project.

The NHTSA sent Comma.ai CEO George Hotz a letter encouraging him to delay the Comma One semi-autonomous driving kit over concerns it “would put the safety of your customers and other road users at risk.”
