Background
Cyberdyne commercializes the inventions of Prof. Sankai and his laboratory at the University of Tsukuba. The company's flagship product is the Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL) suit, which enables and/or augments human motor function by reading nerve signals through the skin.

Cyberdyne, through its HAL suit and Prof. Sankai’s other products, specializes in the development of robotic equipment that benefits society. “HAL” is expected to be applied in various fields such as rehabilitation support and physical training support in medical field, ADL support for disabled people, heavy labour support at factories, and rescue support at disaster sites, as well as in the entertainment field.
