Ekso Bionics, originally Berkeley Bionics, was founded in Berkeley, California in 2005. The company is a pioneer in the field of robotic exoskeletons to improve human mobility. Since its inception, Ekso Bionics has forged partnerships with world-class institutions like UC Berkeley, received research grants from the Department of Defense and licensed technology to the Lockheed Martin Corporation. Ekso has received FDA and CE Market Certification approval and also won the 2012 Gold Edison Award in the Ԃest New Product, Assistive DevicesԠcategory. The Ekso is now utilized in 20 rehabilitation centers across the U.S.
