Mayfield Robotics was born out of the Bosch Startup Platform, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch North America Corporation. The company is the creator of Kuri, a home robot.
The Mayfield team worked in stealth for the past two years to create a brand new, intelligent robot for the home designed with personality, awareness, and mobility, called Kuri.
At CES 2017, Kuri was introduced to the public, winning multiple awards, and was the only robot nominated for a “Best of CES” award.
Kuri represents an incredible amount of complex technology in an elegant and thoughtfully designed robot that is helping to define the future of home robotics. She brings technology to life by understanding context and surroundings, recognizing specific people, providing companionship and more.
With a built-in camera, microphones, speakers, and laser-based navigation, as well as Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, Kuri helps people stay connected to their homes and each other, and she makes life at home a little more interesting, fun, and inspiring.
Kuri can check on your pets, investigate loud noises, check to see if someone left the lights on, follow you around the house and play NPR while you’re getting ready for work, or even read an audiobook to your kids at bedtime. Priced at $699, Kuri is now available for pre-order in the U.S. with a $100 deposit at heykuri.com.
Mayfield was founded by Sarah Osentoski, Kaijen Hsiao and Mike Beebe in 2015.
