Medrobotics Corporation manufactures and markets robotic surgical products.

The company develops and commercializes the Flex robotic system, a robot-assisted platform that provides surgeons to access and visualize hard-to-reach anatomical locations. This flexible robotic surgery platform is commercially available in the United States and the European Union.

Medrobotics also provides Flex retractor, a low profile instrument for transoral robotic surgery (TORS), transoral laser microsurgery (TLM), and Flex procedures.

It also offers a suite of Flex instruments, including laser holders, fenestrated graspers, monopolar Maryland dissectors, monopolar scissors, needle drivers, monopolar spatulas, and monopolar needle knives.

Medrobotics snake-like robotic system includes on-board visualization and contains multiple open device channels to accept a variety of third party surgical and interventional instruments.

The robot enables physicians to operate through non-linear circuitous paths, self-supported, and through a single-site access into the body.

Flex is based on technology developed at Carnegie Mellon University and Farm Design Inc.

The company was formerly known as Cardiorobotics, Inc. and changed its name to Medrobotics Corporation in June 2011. The company was founded in 2005 and is based in Raynham, Massachusetts.
