Epson Robots today said that it is expanding its partnership with Air Automation Engineering to increase support of Epson’s installed base in the U.S. Midwest.
Epson Robots is is part of Long Beach, Calif.-based Epson America Inc. and Japan-based Seiko Epson Corp. It claims to be the No. 1 SCARA robot maker in the world and is a leader in industrial automation, with more than 85,000 units sold worldwide.
Epson Robots also makes Cartesian and six-axis robots on a common PC-based platform. The company, which was on last year’s RBR50 list of innovators, serves assembly and material handling applications in the aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical device, pharmaceutical, and other industries.
Air Automation Engineering was founded in 1978 and is a leading distributor in the Greater Upper Midwest. The company supports its manufacturing customers with application support, repair, value-added services, and inventory from two locations in North Dakota & Minnesota.
Air Automation Engineering to support full Epson Robots line
The new partnership establishes Air Automation Engineering as an official Authorized Epson Service Center. It will expand beyond selling Epson Robots’ automation products, and integrated systems to include maintenance and repair, helping to ensure fast repair turnaround times throughout the Upper Midwest, said the companies.

The partnership includes all Epson Robots products, including its SCARA and six-axis robots and integrated lineup. Air Automation Engineering has helped Epson Robots introduce award-winning robotics throughout Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.
