Join us for: Robots Lead the Way: Exploring Automation in the Commercial Sector.
It’s here: Download our free program booklet from last week’s webcast.
It’s all part of a home and away editorial venture proposed by AUVSI (Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International).
RBR, in addition to the webcast from our Boston studios, will also moderate an away panel discussion under the same title for AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems 2013, scheduled for Washington, DC, from August 12th -15th (RBR’s panel is on tap for August 14th at 1:00 p.m.). In town, please drop by.
Also, circle your calendar for Aug. 1 (see schedule below) for our hour-long, online debut of Robots Lead the Way: Exploring Automation in the Commercial Sector.
I’ll be on the Boston end of the connection. Sharing the microphone with me, and originating from Austin, Texas, will be Robotics Business Review contributor Emmet Cole.
Please join us for a frank, open and lively discussion about the future of unmanned vehicle systems, automation?and you!

Our intention is to cut to the chase on a bunch of issues (time permitting), so we subtitled the program:
What’s Real, What’s Doable,
What’s Opportune — and What’s Not?
We’ll start with “What’s Not Real and What’s Inopportune:”
As we see it, common sense says:
- Better start looking for drone-friendly skies elsewhere. The U.S. will be off limits for a long while. Where to go and why.
- Why September 2015 will be a huge disappointment to all?except maybe FedEx and UPS and big air carriers.
- Who’ll win big with driverless cars and trucks? Automakers and Google for sure. Anyone else? No one!
- Is mobile telepresence going to be robotics’ first Edsel? Consider smartphones and apps; the issue of embodiment vs. non-embodiment; and “Danger, Will Robinson.”
