A tell-all webcast on manufacturing & robot-driven productivity
As Larry Summers has oft bemoaned: Where is all the productivity that everyone is talking about? The ?productivity statistics over the last dozen years are dismal.?
Well, Larry, things are changing…and their pace is accelerating.
Just ask the London School of Economics and Uppsala University where the first empirical study is out (Robots at Work by Guy Michaels, London and Georg Graetz, Sweden) with a definitive study that both labor productivity and value added are on the rise (first time since 2000).
Why is that? It?s simple: robots.
?We analyze for the first time the economic impact of industrial robots, using new data on a panel of industries in 17 countries from 1993-2007. We find that industrial robots increased both labor productivity and value added.?
Information Technology and robots are coming together on factory floors everywhere and are changing everything, including a long overdue boost in productivity.
Where?s it all going and what next?
See for yourself by joining us on Thursday*.
Now Larry Summers finally has some answers.
