Sanjeev Dutta is Vice President, Medical Devices at Johnson & Johnson’s Innovation Center. He works primarily with the Medical Science and Technology Team as the Therapeutic Area Expert for Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Dr. Dutta discusses the progress that Verb Surgical has made so far in “digitizing the OR”.
In March of 2015, Johnson & Johnson announced a partnership between Google’s life sciences division (Verily) and Ethicon, a division of Johnson & Johnson that makes surgical products, to develop new robot-assisted surgery technologies. The new partnership took the name Verb Surgical.
Verb Surgical “will help to explore how the latest innovations in computer science and advanced imaging and sensors could be integrated into tools that help surgeons as they operate,” Google said in a statement.
