Neato Robotics has added two robot vacuums to its Botvac line at IFA in Berlin. Both the Neato Botvac D3 Connected ($399) and Neato Botvac D5 Connected ($599) will be available in the United States and Europe starting in early October 2016.
The Neato Botvac D3 Connected is the most affordable robot vacuum in the lineup to date. It features Neato’s classic D-shape design with CornerClever technology that allow it clean close to walls and corners.
The Botvac D3 Connected can clean up to 1,800 square feet in one cleaning cycle. Neato is a little funky with how it details battery life. It doesn’t detail how long the battery lasts, but says one cleaning cycle includes “includes 3 cleaning runs with 2 recharges of the battery.”
The Botvac D3 Connected comes with all the standard features of a Neato Botvac robot vacuum, including:
- Wi-Fi Connectivity
- Smartphone control
- SLAM-based multiroom navigation
- Scheduled cleanings
- Smartwatch support
- A combo brush
- The ability to return to its charging station when its lithium-ion battery is low, recharge, and pick up where it left off.
The Neato Botvac D5 Connected costs an extra $200 due to several additional features. Besides all the standard features, the Botvac D5 Connected can clean 4,500 square feet on one cleaning cycle, compiles your cleaning stats, and adds in a side brush, boundary markers, a Find Me function, in case you somehow lose your robot vacuum, and the ability to spot clean.
Finally, the Botvac D5 Connected robot vacuum uses “ultra performance filters” for “a very high cleaning performance and excellent air filtration. Best for those concerned with allergies
and for minimizing particulates in the air.”
