STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor developer serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, has been selected as a Laureate in the 2011 Computerworld Honors Program for the company’s iNEMO smart multi-sensor technology. Founded by International Data Group (IDG) in 1988, Computerworld Honors is the longest running global program that recognizes individuals and organizations that use information technology to promote positive social, economic, and educational change.
The award-winning iNEMO platform combines ST’s most advanced accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers, together with pressure and temperature sensors, to provide 3-axis sensing of linear, angular and magnetic motion, complemented with temperature and barometer/altitude readings. The integration of multiple sensors with processing capabilities and dedicated software in a single device enables advances in functionality and performance within a wide variety of applications, including robotics, gaming, human machine interface and portable navigation device development, as well as patient monitoring systems.
