6 River Systems (6RS) was founded in Boston in 2015 by Jerome Dubois, Rylan Hamilton and Chris Cacioppo. Leading 3PLs, retailers and manufacturers including DHL, Lockheed Martin, XPO Logistics and Office Depot are using 6RS to fulfill millions of units a week.

The 6RS solution is powered by collaborative robots called “Chucks” and cloud based software. The Chucks communicate with the software to coordinate all the tasks on warehouse floors. Chuck autonomously leads warehouse associates through their work, guiding them with lights and on-screen pictures. The result is a fleet of Chucks working seamlessly and collaboratively with associates to eliminate long walks, reduce in-aisle walking and speed up warehouse tasks, including put-away, picking, replenishment and sorting. Chuck is a turn-key, drop-in replacement for cart picking and can integrate with any site’s existing Warehouse Management System (WMS).

In April 2019, 6RS announced general availability of Mobile Sort, a new solution that enables warehouse operators to intelligently generate and fulfill batched orders using Chucks, mobile sort stations and cloud-based software enhanced with machine learning. With the addition of Mobile Sort, 6RS extends the value that their solutions offer customers—from their collaborative mobile robots, to order allocation, picking, sorting and pack-out. These solutions address existing gaps in the market today, specifically for third party logistics, B2B, fast-growing e-commerce and omni-channel retail operations.

6RS has seen tremendous growth in four years. From December 2017 to December 2018, 6RS more than doubled its employee count, from 45 to 100.  Today, 6RS employs more than 110 individuals and that number continues to grow. Facilities that use 6RS span all of the United States. In February 2019, 6RS announced general availability in Europe, and a partnership with Bleckmann, a global third party logistics leader headquartered in the Netherlands. Bleckmann is one of 6RS’ first European clients.
