Apple has, for some time now, been rumored to be working on a car. In February 2015, it was reported that Apple was working on an electric vehicle. Now, the Guardian reports Apple is working on self-driving car, and the project is pretty far along.
According to the report, Apple engineers met in May with GoMentum Station, a formal naval base near San Francisco that is now “the largest secure test facility in the world” for the “testing validation and commercialization of connected vehicle (CV) applications and autonomous vehicles (AV) technologies to define the next generation of transportation network infrastructure.”

Citing correspondence between GoMentum Station officials and Apple engineer Frank Fearon, the report quotes Fearon as saying Apple “would like to get an understanding of timing and availability for the space.”
Apple hasn’t confirmed or denied plans for a self-driving car, but that didn’t stop Apple fanatics from taking to the drawing board and coming up with their dream designs. There even was a contest recently, before we knew the car would be self-driving, that called on designers to imagine what the rumored Apple Car might look like.
So, there are plenty of other designs out there, but we’ve rounded up our seven favorite.
