The iRobot Braava jet 240 Mopping Robot ($199.99) is designed to mop hard floor surfaces with high amounts of traffic. The iRobot Braava jet 240 Mopping Robot can only cover 150 to 200 square feet, which is a big step down from the 300-to-1,000 square feet range of the Braava 380t, its predecessor, but the newer model should do a much better job cleaning.
The iRobot Braava jet 240 Mopping Robot features a vibrating cleaning head to increase agitation, a water nozzle to spray the area it’s covering, and premixed detergent in its disposable pads. Braava jet works with Braava jet Cleaning Pads to tackle a range of hard floor cleaning jobs, from wet mopping and damp sweeping to simple dusting.

The wet mopping and damp sweeping pads, which contain a water-activated cleaning agent, leave a fresh, clean scent. Braava jet is also simple to use; just attach the desired Braava jet Cleaning Pad and press the “Clean” button. The robot will automatically determine its cleaning action based on the pad chosen, including:
Wet Mopping Pad – triple-pass cleaning for dirt and stains1 on well-sealed floors
Damp Sweeping Pad – double-pass cleaning for everyday dirt and dust on sealed wood floors, tile and stone
Dry Sweeping Pad – single-pass cleaning for dirt, dust and pet hair on hard floors
The Braava jet uses a mapping algorithm to learn about its surroundings and clean the floor efficiently without damaging furniture. It also has cliff sensors to keep it from rolling down the stairs and users can set up an invisible boundary in Virtual Wall Mode to keep it away from carpets and other rooms.
