iRobot developed the Scooba 450 Floor Scrubbing Robot based on direct customer feedback and advanced technology research to do the tedious work of scrubbing hard floors so users don’t have to, eliminating the hassle of a traditional mop and bucket.
Based on industrial style cleaners, the Scooba 450 uses a three-cycle cleaning process that automatically sweeps and pre-soaks, scrubs, and squeegees hard floors in order to maintain constantly clean floors and wash away up to 99.3% of bacteria.
Using iAdapt Responsive Navigation Technology, Scooba 450 offers complete cleaning coverage for rooms up to 300 sq. feet before it needs refilling. Built-in sensors help Scooba 450 avoid area rugs, raised transitions to carpets as well as drop-offs from stairs and other features so Scooba can deliver a maximum cleaning performance.
The Scooba 450 works for most hard floor surfaces, including linoleum, vinyl, marble, slate, stone and sealed hardwood.
Scooba 450 prepares the floor by sweeping up loose dirt and debris and putting down a thin sheen of water or floor cleaner to soak into any stuck-on messes, much like the way we soak dishes before washing them.
A powerful scrubbing brush then spins at over 600 RPM to remove grime and stuck-on messes while the squeegee vacuum suctions dirty water off the floor. Unlike a mop that just reuses dirty water, Scooba uses fresh solution from start to finish. The dual-compartment tank keeps clean and dirty water separated, so Scooba will never put dirty water back down on the floors.
Scooba ends with a final squeegee-finish cycle and proceeds to dry itself on the new DryDock Charging and Drying Stand, so all that is left is a clean floor.
